Police have detained two suspects following Wednesday’s foiled robbery on a businessman at Supenaam, Essequibo.
They are also looking for at least three other men, including one who was reportedly wounded during a shootout with the businessman and two security guards.
The wounded bandit is believed to be an individual known as ‘Rubber Lip’, who has had several brushes with the law. Police believe that he is in need of urgent medical attention.
A suspect known as ‘Soldier,’ and another man known as ‘Bongo,’ were arrested shortly after the shooting. Police are also looking for at least three other men, including the wounded ‘Rubber Lip.’
On Wednesday, a businessman carrying a substantial sum of cash, and two security officers, were in a boat near Supenaam when five masked men in another vessel approached them and opened fire.
But the businessman’s security guards returned fire, hitting one of the robbers.
