Federicks slams 100, Seepersaud, Cabose bag 5
El Dorado, Aurora, Golden Fleece and Rising Stars recorded victories when the South Essequibo Cricket Committee 40 overs competition continued last Sunday.
At El Dorado ground, the home team defeated N.O.C A by 9 runs. El Dorado batted first and made 179 all out off 26.2 overs. Chandi Jairam scored 52, Tamesh Deonarine 36, and Jermain Trotman 28. Bowling for N.O.C A, Brandon Cabose grabbed 5-13 from 13 overs and Mark Gonsalves 2-22 from four. In reply N.O.C were bowled out for 170. Gonsalves cracked 43, Rajiv Persaud 27 and Orin Heyliger 27. Deonarine claimed 3- 32 and Mahendra Raj 3- 54.
At Pomona, Aurora overcame Jaguars by three runs despite a century from Norman Federicks. Aurora took first strike and posted 218 all out in 39 overs. S. Ally stroked 80 and M. Gafoor 23. Norman Federicks, Husbard Thomas, Javed Azeez and Sherwin Abrams captured two wickets each. Jaguars were bowled out for 215 in response. Federicks slammed 123 and G. Sharma supported with 25. R. Parsram snared 4-16 from 5 overs and G. Phillips 3- 30 from 8.
At Golden Fleece, the home team got the better of Invaders Masters by 42 runs. Golden Fleece made 116 all out in 26.2 overs, batting first. Gewan Singh scored 36 and Eknauth Persaud 21. Beesham Seepersaud bagged 5-16 from 5.2 overs, while Ragesh Gopal and Nand Kishore had two each. Invaders Masters were bowled out for 74 in 23 overs in reply. Indar Rampersaud made 25. Raj Parbattie, Eknauth Persaud, Shivnarine Horrilall and Deolall Rooplall picked up two wickets apiece.
At N.O.C, Rising Stars overpowered NOC B by 97 runs. Rising Stars rattled up 272 for 7 off their 40 overs after taking first knock. Rovin Dusraj made 37, Rohan Ramdass 35 and Ravindra Narine 35. Sachin Persaud took 2- 40 from 6 overs and Miguel Cummings 2- 30 from 4. N.O.C B were bowled out for 175 in reply. Akiene Adams scored 47. Rouwel Latchman claimed 3- 29 from 7 overs and Ravendra Narine 3 – 39 from 8 overs.
