Bail was yesterday set to the tune of $100,000 for a 20-year-old musician who appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry accused of stealing a laptop computer.
Nicose Clarke of Lot 30 Hadfield Street, Lodge, was brought before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to the simple larceny charge which was read to him.
According to the police, on March 31 at John Street, Lodge, Georgetown, Clarke stole Shane Jones’ laptop valued at $175,000.
The case was prosecuted by Inspector Michael Grant who neither revealed the details of the crime nor offered objections to bail.
Nicose told the court that he has had no prior convictions or charges and was granted bail in the sum of $100,000. He is expected to return to court on May 9.
