A gruesome collision involving two ‘bush trucks’ and a pickup, which occurred at Coverden on the East Bank of Demerara, yesterday, has left a pedal cyclist dead.
The deceased has been identified as Aubrey Clarke, a 48 -year old machine operator of Timehri, East Bank Demerara.
Kaieteur News understands that Clarke was reportedly hit by one of the ‘bush trucks’ which was towing the other, as he was proceeding north along the public road on his bicycle.
He was allegedly pinned to the side of the pickup truck which was parked at the side of the road.
When Kaieteur News arrived at the scene, eyewitnesses, recounted that they saw Clarke riding along the road then suddenly heard a loud sound.
“We din know is wha really happen, de man de riding and we see two trucks coming… de one in front towing the other one and all we hear is bladam. Clarke’s relatives told this newspaper that when they arrived on the scene the man’s body was still lying on the side of the road.
His mangled bicycle was tossed to the side of the road.
