In collaboration with the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB), Sterling Products Limited under their Igloo Ice Cream brand will sponsor the 2014 Inter-County Under-15 two day cricket Competition which bowls off tomorrow with the President’s XI taking on defending champions Demerara at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and Essequibo clashing with Berbice at Everest.
Igloo ice cream is manufactured by Sterling Products Ltd which is situated at Providence, East Bank Demerara. This company has been in existence for over 40 years, their ice cream is well known for its creamy and delicious taste.
It is available from quarter pint cups to two Gallon containers. It also comes in Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla, Cherry, and Pino Orange flavors. Igloo ice cream is accessible in all leading supermarkets and Ice-Cream Parlours in areas countrywide.
The second round of the competition is slated for April 2 & 3 and Essequibo will come up against Demerara at the Enmore Community Centre ground on the East Coast, while Berbice meet President X1 at the Wales Community Centre ground in West Demerara.
The third and final round will be held from April 5-6 when Berbice and Demerara do battle at Everest and Essequibo and President XI play at DCC.
Representatives from the sponsor along with GCB Executives are expected to meet the teams at Everest tomorrow before the commencement of play.
The start of play for each day is 09:30 hrs. The teams are as follows:
President XI: Stephon Williams, Khemchand Hardyal, Robin Williams, Mark Ramsammy, Danesh Kowlessar, Junior Phillips, Anil Singh, Azim Alli, Joel Fortune, Shivnarine Chattergoon, Quintin Sampson, Christopher Campbelle, Chandrat Veerasammy, Brandon Corlette. The Manager is Clive Grimond and the Coach is Julian Moore.
Demerara: Bhaskar Yadram, Paul Thomas, Alphius Bookie, Joshua Persaud, Kurt Lovell, Ganesh Jitlall, Ramdeo Basdeo, Ashmead Nedd, Sagar Hithiramani, Bhojnarine Singh, Colin Barlow, Mark Baptise, Pradesh Balkishun and Anthony Antonio. The Manager is Robert ‘Pacer’ Adonis and the Coach is Garvin Nedd.
Berbice: Kevin Sinclair, Surendra Budhoo, Alex Algu, Junior Sinclair, Steve Deonarine, Keith Simpson, Kris Ramnarine, Seon Glasgow, Javid Karim, Dinishwar Budhoo, Kevon Anderson, Steven Kalamudin, Junior Williams, and Haifa Walters. The Manager is Rabindranauth Saywack and the Coach is Andre Percival.
Essequibo: Punraj Coldhar, Shane Wong, Vishal Singh, Arnold Adams, Beesham Moses, Joshua Jones, Ronaldo McPherson, Darshan Indar, Orlando Jailall, Shamar Dusraj, Govindra Gobin, Omesh Ramgobin, Leanardo Bennette, and Wasim Mohamed. The Manager is Vickram Ramnarine and the Coach is Festus Benn.
