Mobile phone Company Digicel says it has provided several vendors with new stalls as part of its program to support community development.
From last month to now, the recipients of stalls were a coconut vendor from Georgetown, a fruit vendor in Kitty, a cobbler in Melanie Damishana, a confectionery vendor on Water Street and a snack vendor who operates along Agriculture Road, East Coast Demerara.
Digicel’s Events and Sponsorship Manager, Gavin Hope, said that: “This is an opportunity for them to expand their trade. The initiative was geared towards focusing on members of our communities, who from time to time may go unnoticed, but at the end of the day provides a service to the people, while making a living for their families.”
