GCB/Scotiabank Kiddy Cricket…South Ruimveldt are Georgetown champs; Supply win East Bank District

South Ruimveldt and Supply Primary schools emerged champions of the Georgetown and East Bank Demerara districts of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) / Scotiabank nationwide Kiddy Cricket Festival, yesterday at Thirst Park.
South Ruimveldt hammered St. Agnes Primary by 67 runs in the final. South Ruimveldt batted first and posted 184-4 off their allocation of 10 overs. Antonio Allen stroked 19, Kemar Boyce 15 and Troyston Louise 13.
St. Agnes who drew the bye to the final, were restricted for 117-9 in 10 overs in reply. Dominique Glasgow led with 16 and Sigidi Andrews 14; Kevin John claimed 2-0 and Oshazay Savoury 2-6.

South Ruimveldt overcame FE Pollard in the semi final which was contested earlier. FE Pollard mustered 145-6 in 10 taking first strike. Extras made a sterling contribution with 25 while Deniro Persaud captured 2-7 and Kevon John 2-8. South Ruimveldt scored 167-4 in 10 overs in their turn at the crease. Antonio Allen scored 15 while Kemar Boyce and Troyston Louise made eight apiece.
Supply Primary registered two victories in the East Bank final, the competition was contested on a round-robin basis. Supply overcame Providence Primary by 90 runs. Supply posted 152-8 in 10 overs, batting first.
David Scott slammed 19 while Alex Gouvia and Alex Allicock scored 12 each and Princess Mc Pherson 10. Asif Khan and Navita Mohabir picked up two wickets each. Providence suffered 13 dismissals and could only muster 62 in 10 overs in response. Gouvia, Kenrick Salvador and Brenda Romascindo grabbed two scalps apiece.
Timehri got the better of Providence by 27 runs in their encounter. Timehri took first strike and rattled up 151-6 in 10 overs. David Sam scored 14 while Vick Prakash claimed 2-2. Providence managed 124-6 in 10 overs in reply. Ajit Khemraj and Indira Amardeo made 10 apiece while Kester Stuart assisted with nine. Cecelia Narine snared two wickets. Supply had earlier overcame Timehri Primary by 37 runs.
