A middle-aged man was yesterday taken into police custody after he allegedly assaulted a female police rank within the precincts of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Reports are that the man who was decked in short pants became annoyed at the police rank after she refused him entry into one of the courtrooms, citing that he defiled the dress code of the courthouse.
He then pushed the police officer who in response moved to file a report against him for assault.
The man was taken away to the Brickdam Police Station where charges are expected to be laid against him.
