…hours before concert

They may have fans all across the globe who consider them to be somewhat “perfect,” but the four Bollywood soap stars who were scheduled to perform at the National Stadium last night, have certainly had their share of bad days.
During a press conference at the poolside of the Princess Hotel and Casino yesterday, Suhasi ‘Abha’ Dhami, Rubina ‘Radhika’ Dilaik, Asha ‘Purvi’ Negi and Rithvik ‘Arjun’ Dhanjani were not shy to relate some of their most embarrassing moments.
Dhanjani (Arjun) admitted that during his days as a contestant on Dance India Dance, he was not as toned as he is now. He was actually chubby.
The actor recalled that during one of his performances, he wore a pair of tight pants, preparing to compete. Unfortunately though, the steps did not go so well and ZeeTV’s beloved Arjun fell, ripping his pants down the middle.
“I’ve had so many embarrassing moments, but that one was really the biggest. It was very embarrassing…and probably the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me,” Dhanjani noted.
As for ‘Pavitra Rishta’s” ‘Purvi, she recalled performing at a show recently and forgetting the steps.
“I was looking at him (Arjun) and he was dancing fine, and I’m like lost. I totally forgot what I was supposed to do.”
“She was literally like going all over the place and shaking. It was even recorded and is now on the internet,” Arjun teased.
Suhasi ‘Abha’ Dhami, reflecting on her most embarrassing moment, said that she was packing up her bags after a shooting of the hit series ‘Yahan Mein Ghar Ghar Kheli,’ when some fans came to meet the stars.
“I wasn’t wearing all the costumes and makeup and the people came right up to me, asking, “Where is Abha?” …I told her that I’m Abha, and she laughed and said “No, you’re lying,” Dhami recalled. “The woman said, but Abha, she’s beautiful, and I’m like…am I not beautiful too?” the actress joked.
All did not appear to be well with the Choti Bahu, Rubina Dilaik, who recalled her most embarrassing moment as being a delay, which had occurred earlier the morning at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport. She maintained, “It was very embarrassing.”
Nonetheless, the first time visitors said that they were excited to come to Guyana after hearing what their colleague ‘Abha’ had to say.
“She kept telling us about the people and how much love everyone has shown and how much people turned out for the show. That made us really excited.”
“We can’t wait to see what the Guyana crowd is like, and from what ‘Abha’ says, you guys are the ideal crowd. That’s what we want, a mad crowd, for a mad performance.”
Suhasi ‘Abha’ Dhami first came to Guyana with her onscreen counterpart, Karan Grover in 2013 to perform at the Music of the World 2 super concert.
Reflecting on her first visit, ‘Abha’ said, “I was sad to know that the people here were very angry with us for coming on stage really late. I would really like to apologize for that; I am very sorry, but we weren’t planning on coming on that late.”
The actress said that she and “Karan” were all ready to perform from as early as 19:00hrs, but were called by promoters only after midnight.
“We had on our costumes and everything. I even ended up sleeping around 9 ‘o’ clock, and then they woke us up till about one o’ clock saying that it was time, and they were ready. It wasn’t our fault, but I’m really sorry about that.”
The stars were eager to perform on West Coast Demerara last night.
“It’s four of us, and we are all going to do two items each, so that’s eight. And we also have some surprises for you all, so it will be great,” ‘Abha’ said.
The stars said that they have been enjoying fruits like papaya and food like fish and chicken curries.
They were supposed to visit Kaieteur Falls, but because of the poor organizing of the show, the stars were not allowed enough time for their trip.
So far, the organizers of the show have managed to create some confusion with unplanned activities. Promoter, Christine Persaud, has apologized. “You learn from your mistakes, and next time will be better,” she said.
