Usually a lot of the focus heading into a motor racing Meet is centred on the cars, but knowledgeable fans are aware that a lot of excitement is also generated by the Superbikers and tomorrow’s event is not expected to be any different judging from what transpired at the last local Meet.
New kid on the block Nikhil Seereeram, while not being classified as a participant in the CMRC Series last November, did manage to upstage reigning champion Stephen Vieira and the latter has vowed revenge at tomorrow’s Meet, so right away fans could expect the precocious Seereeram, who does not seem intimidated by anyone, to accept the challenge.
Seereeram, who many knew came under the wings of Vieira, has been creating a storm recently with his daredevil riding and ever improving skills and though not only the two riders will be the star of the show, because Vieira is the defending champion and Seereeram among the youngest in the field, there is much anticipation as to what will be the outcome of their duels.
This category should be just as exhilarating as the Group 4 category and fans are being advised not to miss this showdown between the young Seereeram and Vieira and company.
Joel Neblett is one of the most seasoned riders in the field and he too showed a lot of heart and skill at the previous Meet, while Carey Griffith, Carlos Rodrigues, Maurice Menezes and even another young and emerging star Matthew Vieira could very well fine themselves in the mix, thereby upsetting all predictions.
What is certain is the fact that the field is packed with talent and it is now up to which rider is thirstier for victory.
The Superbike category is now at a point where any one of the riders has the capability and skill to win and this is what the fans were longing for years now.
It is now at that stage and come tomorrow, the question as to whether there will be a changing of the guard will most certainly be answered.
Twenty-seven races are carded for the day and the venue is the South Dakota Circuit.
