Revlon Lake’s ambitions of winning the welterweight version of the Wray & Nephew Contender boxing series and the top prize of J$2 million fizzed to naught after he suffered a fourth round knockout to Jamaican Sakima Mullings at the Chinese Benevolent Association’s headquarters, Kingston Jamaica, Wednesday evening last.
In this photo taken from the Jamaican Gleaner, Lake (left) cringes from a right hook to his head moments before the referee waved the contest off
This means that Lake will leave Jamaica as will all other boxers out of other Caribbean countries participating in the tournament that loses. The three other local pugilists, Dereck Richmond, Howard Eastman and Gladwin Dorway are scheduled to be in action soon and will have their eyes fixed on the top prize.
