The Little Diva Flames Female FC avenged an earlier loss to Monedderlust FC of West
Coast Berbice with a solid 2-0 win on Saturday March 8 at the GFC ground. In the 1st game played at the #5 ground, West Berbice in February they lost 5-0.
Leading Diva’s to the win by netting both goals was National Under-17 player Althea Holligan in the 19th and 39th minute. Playing with 8 players, the Berbicians put up a good fight but they were outnumbered and out muscled by the Georgetown based girls. A third game is in the making shortly.
Meanwhile, the Diva’s have stepped up their training as prepare to travel to Lethem, Rupununi during the Easter period to participate in a tournament in a neighboring Brazilian border town. Training will continue on Saturday and Thursday at GFC.
