The Little Diva Flames Female FC avenged an earlier loss to Monedderlust FC of West
Coast Berbice with a solid 2-0 win on Saturday March 8 at the GFC ground. In the 1st game played at the #5 ground, West Berbice in February they lost 5-0.
Leading Diva’s to the win by netting both goals was National Under-17 player Althea Holligan in the 19th and 39th minute. Playing with 8 players, the Berbicians put up a good fight but they were outnumbered and out muscled by the Georgetown based girls. A third game is in the making shortly.
Meanwhile, the Diva’s have stepped up their training as prepare to travel to Lethem, Rupununi during the Easter period to participate in a tournament in a neighboring Brazilian border town. Training will continue on Saturday and Thursday at GFC.
The club has planned some fund raising activities to garner much needed funds to offset their travelling expenses to Region 9.
