Joel Dick banged in five goals for Grove Hi Tech yesterday leading his team to a big 8-0 win over Herstelling Football Club when play in the Stag Beer/East Bank Football Association division-one league continued at the Grove Playfield.
Grove and Dick wasted no time in getting down to business with the first goal coming three minutes into the match. Dick was on target again in the 6th, 23rd and 29th minute, netting all the goals in the first half.
The young Herstelling side tried their best to keep the rampaging Grove side at bay for some time in the second half but could not stop the flow of goals once Grove got into the act again in a game that was reduced to 70 minutes.
Breaking the deadlock was Anthony Griffith in the 45th minute. Tybert Muir got his name unto the score sheet in the 60th minute, seven minutes later it was Shelton Joe who was on target.
As the game started, so it ended with Dick slamming in his fifth goal and Grove’s eight to seal a big win for the home team. It was Herstelling’s second loss of the league by that margin, suffering a similar fate to Agricola.
The win for Grove move them up to the third place in the points table while Herstelling remain without a point.
