Leonora Secondary shrugged off a 2-0 deficit to rebound in grand style to hammer West Demerara Secondary 7-2 when play in the National Association of Women’s Football (NAWF) Under-17 eight-team Inter Secondary School competition continued on Friday at the Den Amstel Community Centre Ground.
West Demerara started red hot and were 2-0 up by the 9th minute through goals from Tinesha Frank in the 4th minute and Sheneal Hughes in the 9th.
It took Leonora some time to get warm but when they did, West Demerara were no match for the Leonora girls.
Mandy Dainty banged in five goals as she took on scoring all alone up to the 55th minute. She rocked the nets in the 20th, 41st, 45th, 49th, 55th minute. Stacy Adams was on target for Leonora in the 57th with Kimberly Damon putting the icing on the cake in the 60th minute from the penalty spot.
Competition is set to continue on Wednesday when Vreed -en- Hoop match skills with Uitvlugt Secondary at the Den Amstel Community Centre Ground.
