Central Essequibo overpowered Pomeroon by 10 wickets in the first semifinal of the Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB)/Busta 50 over festival yesterday at Imam Bacchus ground, Affiance.
Pomeroon were skittled out for 71 in 15.1 overs after taking first strike. Aubrey Rodrigues was the only batsman that showed fight with 20 while extras supported with 29. Left arm spinner Herry Green claimed 3-6 off 4 overs and Lallbachan Narine 2-11 off 3.
Central replied with 72 without loss in eight overs. Herell Green led with an unbeaten 43 and extras contributed 21; Navindra Persaud (08) was the other not out batsman on 8. Central will play the winner of the second semifinal between Wakenaam and East Bank Essequibo which will be played on a date and venue to be announced in the final.
