Rivalry in the Stag Beer/East Bank Football Association (EBFA) division-one league is set to continue tomorrow and Monday at the Grove Playfield with one match each day.
Tomorrow’s match between current second and third placed Kuru Kururu Warriors and Timehri Panthers is anticipated to be a keen contest with the winner set to assume the leadership of the points standings. 5
Both Warriors (goal difference of +5) and Panthers (goal difference of +4) are unbeaten after two matches each and will be seeking to maintain their winning ways as the league heats up. On the offensive end, the Warriors have scored six times conceding once; Panthers have fired in four goals and are the only team yet to concede a goal.
Defensively, both teams have looked solid so this clash will be interesting and will bring under the microscope, the offensive and defensive capabilities of each team. Kick off time is 15:30hrs.
The EBFA has adjusted their fixture as a result of the Guyana Football Referees Council (GFRC) and the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Referees Training Programme that will be held over two days, Sunday and Monday.
This programme is compulsory for all referees to attend and is the first by the entities for the year.
Monday’s match will also kick off at 15:30hrs between Grove Hi Tech and Herstelling FC. Grove, with a win and a loss to date will be aiming for win number two and will fancy their chances against a young Herstelling side still trying to get accustomed to competitive play at this level.
The second game that was scheduled for Monday between Agricola Red Triangle and Soesdyke Falcons will be rescheduled following a request from Agricola who will be hosting a fund raising 5-a-side, bar-b-que and dance on Monday to garner funds for the refurbishment of their ground.
