Kaieteur Sport wishes to make a correction relating to an article in Wednesday’s issue of the papers headlined ‘Chanderpaul is back’ written by Sean Devers.
The sentence, ‘He added that bringing forward the match by a day due to the Holiday on Monday takes away some of the recovery time from the players’ was inadvertently attributed to the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Chairman of selectors Rayon Griffith.
It was in fact the GCB who asked for the game to be brought forward because of the anticipated noise from the planned Phagwah Day activity on the tarmac of the stadium on Monday.
This newspaper apologizes for creating the impression that an official of the GBC was against the rescheduling of the match and any damage caused by the article.
