Rising Star won the South Essequibo Cricket Committee (SECC)/Edward Skeete and family T20 competition after defeating El Dorado SC by 30 runs in the final played on Sunday last at Pomona.
Rising Stars batted first and made 166-4 off their allotted overs. Ricardo Peters stroked 48; Jagdesh Dindial scored 39 and Royan Federicks 35.
Raymond Alli claimed 2 for 29, while Deonauth Singh, Tameshwar Deonarine and M. Raj had one each.
In reply, El Dorado were bowled out 137 in the final over. Deonarine top scored with 28 and Ravi Beharry made 25. Bowling for Rising Stars Deoraj Dindial grabbed 4 for 15, Royan Federicks 2 for 22 and man of the match Jagdesh Dindial 1 for 29.
Gewan Singh received the best batsman and Insaf Latchman the best bowler of the competition awards.
