Alpha United and Boys Town of Jamaica registered comfortable victories when action in the Vision Sounds Entertainment Caribbean Club Football tournament continued Friday night last at Buxton ground, East Coast Demerara.
In the first game of a double header between old rivals Alpha ‘The Hammer’ United and the West Demerara based Slingerz Football Club, Alpha, Guyana’s leading club side that will be this nation’s representative in the Caribbean Football Union Club Championships, banged their way past Slingerz 5-0, this demolition act was witnessed by a large and appreciative crowd. Gregory ‘Jackie Chan’ Richardson opened the scoring in the 11th minute. Grenadian forward Kithson Bain then found the back of the nets twice as Alpha enjoyed a 3-0 lead at the break. Andrew Murray Jr. made it 4-0 before Bain completed a hat-trick minutes before regulation time.
In the other game, Boys Town of Jamaica whipped Buxton United 3-1. The final set of matches were slated for last evening at the GFC Ground, Alpha United faced Boys Town in the main encounter, Slingerz and Buxton met in the opening game at 19:00hrs.
