When competition in the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) Under-17 tournament continued on yesterday at two venues, BV Triumph United edged Paradise 2-1 at the BV Ground.
Mahaica won by a similar score line against Victoria Kings at the same venue. Up at the Victoria Ground, Mahaica thumped Victoria Kings also by a 2-1 margin while the match-up between Ann’s Grove and Haslington ended in a 1-1 draw.
On Saturday, BV Triumph United’s winning streak was halted temporarily when they were held to an exciting 3-3 tie by Buxton United.
Even BV’s home advantage did not work in their favour as the Buxton boys responded in like manner every time the home team scored. The other match-up produced a solid 3-1 win for Plaisance over Buxton Stars.
Up at the Victoria Ground, the home team, Victoria Kings and Golden Stars battled to a 0-0 stalemate while Haslington gained full points without breaking a sweat as a result of the no appearance of Mahaica.
