The Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GM&SA) held its annual presentation of
awards and dinner ceremony on Friday night at the Pegasus Hotel.
The engaging event saw the presence of celebrated persons in the local manufacturing industry and a much-anticipated presentation by the Former Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Basdeo Panday who was accompanied by his wife.
The most sought after award for the night; the Executive President’s award for export achievement went to Pritipaul Singh Investment Incorporated.
GM&SA has been impressed by the company and its approach in processing seafood and penetrating markets around the world. The award was presented by Prime Minister Samuel Hinds to Mr. Pritipaul Singh Jr., Manager of the company.
Caribbean Containers Incorporated (CCI) was recognized for its significant contributions to the environment in Guyana. Mr. Winston Patokie, received a plaque in recognition of the company’s contributions to sustained waste recycling for a greener environment.
A plaque for facilitating partnerships with business support organizations to spur the growth of entrepreneurship in Manufacturing Services and Engineering and Construction, was given to the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce.
Six other companies received plaques in appreciation of their contributions and longstanding
dedication towards the development of the manufacturing industry.
Gafsons Industries Ltd., John Fernandes Ltd., Toolsie Persaud Ltd., and Brass Aluminum & Cast iron Foundry were a part of the group that received special longevity awards.
These were in recognition of maintaining stability and growth through innovativeness and modern technology for over six decades.
