Furniture giant Courts yesterday threw their support behind the Para Sports Festival which is scheduled for March 9 at the Guyana Defense Force ground. Yesterday at their Main street location, the entity donated $742,248 to the National Paralympic Committee of Guyana (NPCG) for hosting of the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Marketing Director Molly Hassan stated that they are pleased to support the festival given the fact that it involves Differently Able athletes and it is one way of giving back to the society.
“We are extremely honored to be part of this remarkable event which is mainly aimed to improve these athletes and I would like to wish the organisers and participants well”, she added.
President of the NPCG Wilton Spencer thanked the organisation for their input. Thirty-two activities are slated for the day with athletes from Regions four, five, six and ten expected to compete.
