…now slapped with eight charges
Delroy Fraser appeared before Magistrate Rabindranath Singh at the Albion Magistrate’s Court and was placed on $30,000 bail, on Thursday.
Prosecuting Sergeant Phillip Sheriff told the court that the issue stemmed from a dispute between the accused and one Doren Ramcharitar.
Sheriff stated that on February 24, about 14:00hrs, Ramcharitar was on his bridge washing his motor car when Fraser started to abuse him. Fraser was said to have also proceeded to pick up a quantity of bottles and pelt them in Singh’s direction.
The matter was reported to the Springlands Police Station and Fraser was arrested. He was then taken to Crabwood Creek where he allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted Cadet Officer Jermaine DuFu and Police Sergeant Ian Welch. A scuffle ensued between Fraser and the police officers.
Fraser, who suffered a broken nose during the scuffle, was subsequently hospitalized under police guard.
He was charged with assaulting Jermaine Dufu, a Cadet Officer, who was acting in the execution of his duties. He was also charged with resisting Jermaine DuFu on the said day. Another charge read that on the day in question he behaved disorderly within public hearing.
He is also charged with resisting Police Sergeant Ian Welch, a peace officer, and with behaving disorderly within public hearing.
Another charge read that on the day in question he threw stones to the annoyance of Doren Ramcharitar and with using threatening language to him.
His case was transferred to Springlands Magistrate’s Court for April 4.
