Dear Sir,
Allow me a chance to congratulate the Guyana Olympic Association and the Guyana Amateur Boxing Association for providing the Guyanese public with boxing that reminded me of the good old days.
The just concluded International Goodwill Boxing Tournament has given hope that all is not lost in Guyana regarding the fistic sport; I enjoyed almost every fight over the three-day duration and must applaud the efforts of the two associations.
Kudos must also be extended to the Guyana National Team for restoring some pride in the boxing fraternity. Best Boxer Dennis Thomas and Imran Khan, who are both Policemen, gave heartwarming performances, while displaying true grit and determination.
It is my hope that we can have another such tournament in the near future. Well done guys!
