Following consultations with various stakeholders and on the heels of the instalment of a referee/judges commission,
the executive of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) has given its blessings to the formation of a coaches’ commission, dubbed the Guyana Boxing Association Coaches Commission, which was installed last week Friday.
Sebert Blake, just back from a coaches’ course in Hungary, has been elected to chair the body while Terrence Poole is his deputy. National Coach, Wensel Thomas is the Secretary, while Cuban coach, Francisco Hernandez Roldon and coach of the Essequibo Boxing Gym, Clifton Moore, are the committee members.
Shortly after their installation, the executives were congratulated by President of the GBA, Steve Ninvalle who urged them to streamline their activities while submitting recommendations to strengthen the body. The GBA President said that he is confident that the group will come up with tangible suggestions that will improve on the standing of coaching officials.
