Yearly, Air Services Limited (ASL) opens its doors to about 2,800 students from across the country to tour the facility and interact with pilots, engineers and those captivating flying machines. The main aim is to ignite children’s dreams of having careers in the aviation industry.
Though, the company welcomes school tours all year round, during the first three months is usually busy. This year is no different since several schools have begun their field trips. The company is pleased that is considered as one of the entities that schools want to visit.
Students of Vreed-en-Hoop Primary and Cotton Tree Primary schools recently visited ASL located at Ogle on the East Coast Demerara. There they toured country’s lone flight school.
On Friday last, Nikita Inniss, Engineer of ASL, facilitated a tour for the Cotton Tree students. The company specifically chose a female engineer to interact with the students to positively influence the young female students. Women have an equal role in the aviation industry and this is evident in ASL’s workforce.
Some of the students who never saw an airplane and a helicopter were given the opportunity to enter those flying machines. They also saw other tools used in teaching students of Air Services Limited’s Flight Training School.
