All roads lead to the Young Warriors Cricket Ground in Cumberland on Mash Day, February 23rd 2014 as Universal DVD/Universal Solutions adds big dollars to the fundraiser. At a presentation ceremony held recently, Michelle Khan, sales representative of the company’s New Amsterdam Branch presented a cheque to Trevor Ramdeholl.
The cheque represents sponsorship for The Young Warriors Cricket Club Fundraising Tournament – Mash Cup, 2014 – 2nd Edition. The tournament, which involves 2nd division teams along the # 19 Road and
East Canje, Berbice, is 5 over a side and is to be played on Mash Day, February 23, 2014. Ten teams will participate and it is expected to be an action packed day for the entire family. Incentives and gate prizes with a value of over $300,000 will be up for grabs.
Ms Khan said that her company is very pleased to be part of this event for the first time and she is certain that this is the beginning of a long-term relationship with the event. She added that they were impressed with the way the club goes about doing its business. Speaking on behalf of her boss Mr Vickram Seubaran, she said that her company would assist anyone who conducts their business professionally, as does the YWCC.
In response, Anil Beharry, events coordinator expressed his gratitude to Vickram Seubaran for coming on board in such a big way and he assured the sponsor that their monies will go towards the intended purpose and that is to continue to improve the facility. Beharry added that the club will continue to work hard to make a difference in the lives of young people.
