– wins for St. George’s, North Ruimveldt and Lodge
Queen’s College Head Coach Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell was beaming with delight as he watched his team inflict a crushing 7-2 win over St. Winefride as play in this year’s Milo/Petra Organisation Schools Football Competition continued on Sunday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Aftab Crandon lashed in a hat-trick in the 37th, 46th and 57th minutes of play, while Stephen King in the 2nd and 40th and Ashmar Angel brace in the 17th and 26th completed their tally.
On the scoresheet for St. Winefride were Steffon Reynolds in the 28th and Andrew Holder 44th.
In another lop-sided contest, North Ruimveldt exhibited no mercy in their clash against North Georgetown after hammering them 7-0 thanks to a double each from Jeremy Garrett, who fired home in the 20th and 47th minutes respectively, while Jamal Europe complemented his effort with two goals in the 43rd and 55th minutes of play.
Matthew Harrison and Carl Griffith netted in the 24th and 60th minutes respectively.
Defending champions St. George’s made a business-like start to their defence with a comfortable 2-0 triumph over New Campbellville.
Adolph George opened the scoring after just five minutes of play and this advantage lasted until the half, before Neil Cameron made it 2-0 in the 65th minute and this scoreline remained until the final whistle sounded.
In the opening game of the day, Lodge Secondary gained a walkover from Central High that failed to show up.
The competition continues next Saturday with four more matches at the same venue.

12:30 hrs Carmel Secondary vs. Richard Ishmael
