The powerlifting fraternity has reposed confidence in the stewardship of Peter Green and has elected him to serve as President for another term when the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPF) held their Annual General Meeting last Sunday at the Tropical View Hotel, Campbellville Avenue, Georgetown.

‘Big’ John Edwards was elected to serve as Vice President with Gordon Spencer taking over the reigns as General Secretary. In charge of finances is Deonarine Dutt as Treasurer, Paul Adams will serve as PRO/Organizing Secretary while the Committee Members are Erwyn Smith, Wendell Mc Pherson and Winston ‘Little Master’ Stoby.
President Green thanked the members for having him back at the helm to continue the progress of the sport. The members were informed that the association has received three professional weights sets compliments of the Ministry of Sport valued Six Million Guyana dollars.
The GAPF has indicated an interest in bidding for the Caribbean, Pan American and South American Championships in an effort to boost sports tourism according to the association.
