The performance of the Berbice Regional Health Authority (BRHA) which is the only such entity in the country came under stark review by councilors from both sides of the divide when the Region Six Democratic Council held their statutory meeting on Thursday in the RDC Boardroom in New Amsterdam.
APNU councilor Councilor Kerwin Crawford making his point, AFC councilor Donna Mathoo is next to him.
Apart from the shortage of drugs, the unprofessional behaviour of some medical personnel, the uncleanliness and smelly state of the New Amsterdam Hospital and the excessive use of cell phones while working were some of the troubling issues raised.
It was also revealed that staffs members are usually seen decorating their nails while at work.
