Residents of the Lyng Street Neighbourhood, Charlestown, are imploring the higher authorities to intervene in the matter of a woman whom they allege has been tormenting them daily.
Reports stated that Mrs. Carrington and her husband have been living in the Charlestown area for three years but neighbours continue to verbally and physically abuse them.
The residents explained that the abusive neighbor has a habit of verbally abusing passers-by even when they are not looking in her direction.
One resident said, “This woman is the Neighbour from Hell. You don’t have to do her anything. She always hollering on people and cussing them out and she thinks people are envious of her.
“We honestly don’t care about what this woman has. We never went to her house to know what’s inside but every day she is on her verandah talking about what she has and what we don’t. It is frustrating.”
Another said, “We are of the firm belief that the woman is mentally unstable because no sane person can do this. Whenever she is in the country she picks fights and gets her husband involved. When she is away, her husband is a peaceful soul.
“We are calling on the authorities because this woman needs counseling and we are afraid that someone violent in the neighbourhood is going to hurt her. We have been hearing the threats already.”
Kaieteur News also understands that the woman was taken to court by several members of the neighbourhood for abusive language and threatening behaviour.
She was even placed on a bond to keep the peace with one neighbor and issued a restraining order for another resident because of her “abusive behaviour.”
Despite the numerous times she has been to court, she is allegedly still abusing members of the neighbourhood.
Residents are urging that the matter be looked into by the higher authorities since reports to the police at the Ruimveldt Police Station seem to have fallen on deaf ears for quite some time.
