– Prosecution to produce 16 witnesses
The date for the Preliminary Inquiry into the death of former Swiss House Cambio Manager, Farouk Razac, was on Wednesday set when his wife Carol Ann Lynch made her second court appearance on account of his murder.
Lynch, who once held the title of Mrs. South America, is currently held in remand for Razac’s murder which occurred on May 7, 2007 at Ireng Place, Bel Air Park, Georgetown.
Her case is being heard by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and prosecuted by Corporal Bharat Mangru of the chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
At her last court hearing, the Chief Magistrate promised to set the date for her PI to commence. On Wednesday, she addressed Lynch’s lawyer, Peter Hugh. “I know that you’ve asked for an early date for the PI but there are persons before your client so she will have to wait her turn.”
As such, Lynch was further remanded to prison and the Preliminary Inquiry is set to commence on April 1.
Mangru indicated to the court that their investigations are complete and that the Prosecution will be presenting 16 witnesses to support their case.
