The Ministry of Education is on high alert following reports of possible high intensity rainfall expected over the next 24 hours.
Reports from the Ministry of Agriculture indicate that a high intensity weather pattern, which is at present over the Atlantic, could result in rainfall of 45 to 80mm over a 24-hour period.
This weather pattern which was expected to commence last evening, is expected to be at its maximum capacity on Thursday. The Hydromet Department says there is a 70 percent chance that the weather pattern will remain as predicted.
Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand, has directed a team to closely monitor the situation and is asking parents to be cognizant of this hydromet warning and as far as they can the reality surrounding their children’s school tomorrow prior to taking or sending said children to school.
