Dear Editor,
In a previous letter, I had outlined the boundaries of the local “Jurassic Park” as well as some of the inherent dangers lurking in that part of Stabroek, Georgetown. My daily commute takes me through a section of the “park”.
Frank Fyffe’s recent letter in your Thursday edition (2014-01-23) reminds us of what still exists, including the drain north of St. Andrew’s Kirk and Demico House. The drain which is west of Parliament connects with that which is also west and north of Demico House. The effluence then flows out to the Demerara River via an underground system; so I am told.
The “park” thrives in the day and attains its high point at nights when there is an increase in food vending. “Animal farm” is not too far off where much is said but nothing gets done. Anything goes.
