The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) expansive coaching programme that would be undertaken by their Special Events Committee this year, on Friday last received a major boost when the Berbice River Bridge Company (BRBC) contributed $100,000 worth of coaching kits.
The BRBC was approached late last year by Secretary/CEO of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club and Special Events Committee Chairman Hilbert Foster and they readily agreed to assist.
Foster stated that the coaching kits would be distributed to fourteen (14) clubs across Berbice which will coach players between the ages of 8 to 12 years-old. This he stated would assist the Board in identifying promising and talented players for the future, thus continuing the rich tradition of Berbice producing outstanding cricketers.
He expressed gratitude to the Management and Staff of the BRBC for their assistance and investment in Berbice cricket.
Administrative Assistant of the company, Ms. Bibi Alli, in handing over the kits, stated that they were pleased to be associated with the Berbice Cricket Board and pledged continued
cooperation in the future.
