DEAR EDITOR,
There are several of us who are confused by the presentation of the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, commenting on plans for training the students of Kuru Kuru Cooperative College in, amongst other things, vehicle driving.
When last I checked the National Estimates 2013, the College was listed as being within the purview of the Ministry of Education, under Education Delivery.
At her press conference earlier this year, the Minister of Education spoke of ‘Special Needs’ schools, and identified its teachers as being eligible for ‘promotion’. How come did it appear that the latter was excluded from the recent ceremonial at the H.B. Davis Special Needs School of the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre which again would appear to misrepresent the fact that the facility falls within the purview of the ubiquitous Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.
Finally it would be helpful for the under-informed like myself to be advised in which Ministry is the New Opportunity Corps officially located. Parliamentarians should also brief themselves in this regard in preparation for the upcoming budget review.
