The police have issued a bulletin for 36-year-old Jamaican Anthony Lloyd Neville Morrison, who they said is wanted for questioning in relation to the death of Beverley Anesta Gardner.
The woman, who was also from the island of Jamaica, was discovered dead in a room at the New York Car Wash & Hotel, Camp and Princes Streets, Georgetown on Wednesday.
Both Morrison and Gardner were recent guests at the hotel.
Although there were no visible marks of violence on the woman’s body, investigators are not ruling out foul play, and her male companion is being treated as a suspect in her death.
Detectives will rely on a post mortem examination which will be done today, to determine the way forward.
Morrison became the subject of much interest after detectives reviewed Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage.
From all indications, Morrison has not left Guyana, as immigration records were checked prior to the issue of the wanted bulletin.
Police have listed his date of birth as April 13, 1977. They say he is medium built.
Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Anthony Lloyd Neville Morrison is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 225-6411, 225-2227, 226-7065, 227-1149, 911 or the nearest police station.
All information will be treated with strict confidence.
