The eagerly anticipated 2013 Sunburst Linden Secondary Schools Under-17 basketball final will be played tomorrow at the Mackenzie Sports Club Hard Court with Mackenzie High School taking on Christianburg Wismar Secondary in the championship game at 4:30pm, while the supporting game at 3:00pm is between losing semifinalists New Silvercity Secondary and Linden Foundation Secondary Schools.
Company officials from the official sponsors, Continental Group of Companies, distributors of Sunburst Orange Juice, are expected to be in Linden to witness the final which was postponed for various reasons including the inclement weather.
With a change in the weather pattern play is likely to be and the contesting schools are asked to ensure their teams are present on time for the conclusion of this tournament.
Organisers of the championship, the Linden Amateur Basketball Association, in a release said that all plans are on stream for a successful final with the necessary approval coming from the Region Ten (Upper Demerara/Berbice) Education Department earlier this week for the teams to participate.
