A 26-year-old delivery man attached to Mario’s Pizza (located at Middle and Camp Streets) died in an accident around 10:00 hrs yesterday while on his way to deliver an order.
The dead man has been identified as Julian Welch of Duncan Street, Campbellville. The accident occurred at Lamaha and New Garden Streets, Georgetown.
According to information received, Welch was proceeding north on New Garden Street when a car came into his path. He attempted to swerve but ended up hitting a concrete wall.
He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation by a Central Islamic Organization of Guyana bus, but died while in the hospital’s theatre.
