Delta Force and Assassin recorded victories when the Mark Wiltshire 59th Birth Anniversary Dominoes competition commenced on Thursday evening at Dynasty Sports Bar.
Delta Force marked 74 games to beat Pacesetters with 70 and Mix Up on 65 in the opening round.
Earl Mars top scored with 16 games, while William Sargeant assisted
with 15 for the winners. Leroy Edwards and Colin Thomas were Pacesetters’ leading players with 16 and 15 games respectively; Mark Wiltshire made 15 and Gilbert Mendonca 14 for Mix Up.
Assassin scored 74 games to defeat Gangster who managed 71 and Lodgers with 66 in the second round.
Rafeek Khan led the scoring for Assassin with 16 games and was ably supported by Michael Young with 14. Sevon Collymore made 16 and Dereck Collymore 15 for Gangster, while Jane Chase and Samantha Vickery scored 15 apiece for Lodgers.
Meanwhile, F & H Printing Establishment has thrown their support behind the tournament. Yesterday at the company’s location, John Street, Campbellville, Radiyah Brandt handed over a cheque for $20,000 to Wiltshire which will be given to the outstanding players in the tournament.
Brandt said that the company is pleased to be associated with the tournament and wished the teams well. The entity has also contributed trophies for the said competition. Wiltshire expressed gratitude to his benefactors for their input.
