The decomposed body of Anrude Persaud, a/k “Jaglall”, who went missing since last Old Year’s Day was discovered by an excavator operator, Saturday morning in a trench, at Cotton Field, Essequibo, opposite the Mandir.
Persaud’s family last saw him around 14:00 hours on December 31, last and have
been searching for him ever since. The excavator operator was reportedly clearing weed from the trench when he was confronted by the dead man’s corpse. He subsequently ceased all operations and notified the police of his find.
Persaud’s daughter, Kim Persaud, identified her father’s body. The man lived alone at a house in Bush Lot and was regarded as an alcoholic.
Just last week, Juliet D’Olivieria’s relatives discovered her nude remains at a dense back dam, at Dredge Creek, in the Pomeroon. The decomposed body of the mother of four bore a stab wound to her chest.
Police had held her paramour, Leroy Benn but subsequently released him.
