Cuffy 250 Dominoes
Rage and Outsiders have booked their places in the playoffs of the Cuffy 250 Dominoes tournament after recording victories in their respective preliminary round fixtures on Monday night at Dynasty Sports Bar.
Rage chalked up 79 games to finish ahead of Specialist with 72 and R & R on 65. Mark Welch marked 17 games for the winners while skipper Cargeil De Freitas supported with 16. Andrew Mendonca scored 17 and Paul Lewis 15 for Specialist while Orin Favorite made 17 for R & R.
New York based Outsiders with 65 games got the better of Pacesetters who scored 63 and C 7 with 46. George Abrams and Valerie Fortune were Outsiders leading players with 17 and 15 games respectively; Colin Thomas made 16 for Pacesetters and Clavis Whitehead 17 for C 7. The playoffs will commence on January 10 while the final will be played the following day at Channel Nine compound. Trophies for the tournament are being donated by the President of the United States Dominoes Federation George Abrams. The wining team will take home a trophy and $150,000, the runner up $75,000 and third place $35,000.
