Owner expresses surprise with article
Owner of one of Guyana’s top racehorses and 2013 reigning champion, ‘Score’s Even’ of the Simple Royal Stable of Corentyne, has expressed surprised with an article in the press which stated that his horse is on a collision course with a top Trinidad horse ‘Princess Joann.’
According to Mr. Dennis DeRoop, he is not aware of any planned horserace meet

between any special horse and his. He stated that, nobody contacted him and asked him anything about any special race or any race that will include any special horse which will be brought in to race Score’s Even. He doesn’t know if persons are planning anything, but he not privy to same and is not too keen on such activities.
He knows the owner of the horse mentioned, but is not aware that he plans to bring it to Guyana to race. Something which he states might not be the best thing to do, because when the horses come to Guyana to race they cannot leave, because of the lack of proper Legislation.
He anxiously wants Score’s Even to go overseas and race after destroying all and sundry here, but because of the way things are done in this country and the lack of proper rules and regulations the horses cannot leave the country.
Score’s Even is a Kentucky Bred animal and is known for both its speed and stamina. Its last race meet was on Sunday December 22nd at the ‘Champion of Champions’ race meet, when it destroyed a top notch field of Guyana’s best to win a lopsided victory in the feature event.
So far it has notched up an impressive record with eight wins and its fourth consecutive from 12 starts since coming to Guyana.
