Assassin are among the eight teams that have so far qualified for the playoffs of the Cuffy 250 dominoes tournament which commenced recently at La Belle Sports Bar and Hotel. The other qualifying teams so far are Turning Point, Mix Up, Providence, Scramblers, All Season Racing Service, Dream Team and Raiders.
Rafeek Khan marked 17 games to lead the 2013 Million Dollars runner up, Assassin to victory with 75 games over All Seasons Racing Service who managed 70 and La Belle Sports Club with 55 in their preliminary round contest. Franklin Seaforth scored 16 for All Seasons and Paul Brusche 17 for La Belle SC.
Turning Point made 83 games to beat Mix Up who scored 76 and Pacesetters 73. Colin Mc Ewan and Sandra Welch were Turning Point leading players with 17 and 15 games respectively while Mark Wiltshire and Eon Thomas chalked 17 each and Rawl Peters 16 for Mix Up; Osborne Brathwaite marked 16 and Colin Thomas 15 for Pacesetters.
One of the local power houses TNT, who took third place in the 2013 Million Dollars tournament were booted out of the competition. Providence registered 75 games to win this encounter which was keenly contested, Scramblers finished second with 72; TNT made 70. Junior Smith scored 17 for the winners, Basil Bradshaw and Trevor Smith marked 17 apiece for Scramblers and TNT respectively.
Dream Team posted 75 games to win their fixture against Raiders with 70 games and Arsenal 65. Shawn Kishan top scored for Dream Team with 17, Rudy Collins made 16 for Raiders and Linden Boston 17 for Arsenal.
The competition continued last night at Dynasty.
