President Donald Ramotar represented by Minister of Legal Affairs and Attorney General Anil Nandlall, extended Christmas cheer to the children of Enmore and the Hope Children’s home, yesterday.
Minister Nandlall expressed best wishes to the children. He said, “Christmas is a time of giving and sharing, especially in respect of those who may not be as fortunate as others and those who may not have their families with them.”
“That is the spirit which inspired the visit to this orphanage,” he said. The children were treated to lunch, ice cream and gifts which were contributed and financed by President Ramotar.
Ms. Anita Persaud and Mr. Sahadeo Persaud also assisted in the activity by making personal donations to the children.
Also present were Coordinator of the President’s Annual Christmas party, Tulsidai Wizien and Director of the orphanage Kenneth Finlayson.
The Hope Children’s Home was started in 2001 and this activity has since become a tradition. It was started by former President Bharrat Jagdeo. (GINA)
