Signature Productions will be staging its fifth annual edition of UNCENSORED, the brain child of Lyndon ‘Jumbie’ Jones, starting tonight at 20:00hrs and continuing tomorrow at the same time. The venue is the National Cultural Centre.
UNCENSORED is an adult-targeted stand-up comedy production showcasing Guyana’s premiere veteran comedians along with the rising stars.
Since its debut, UNCENSORED has been an eagerly anticipated event triggering overwhelming responses from the public and breaking the box office record at the National Cultural Centre by being the first show to sell out days in advance. Like every other edition, ‘Uncensored 5’ is expected to be explosive.
Some of the best in the stand-up comedy business will thrill the audience with their jokes and acting skills.
As is customary, the first night of the show, will see the newcomers competing among themselves for three spots.
Some of tonight’s junior competitors include Kirwyn Mars, Kwasi ‘Ace’ Edmondson, Chubby, Leza ‘Radica’ Singh, Odessa Primus as well as newcomers Mark ‘Chine Man’ Kazim, Jermaine Grimmond and others.
Following this competition, the winning youngsters, on the second night, will come up against the stalwarts in the game including Henry Rodney, Lyndon ‘Jumbie’ Jones, Habeeb Khan, and Chris Gopaul.
It will be stand-up comedy at its best. Apart from the actual competition, persons in the audience will have a chance to participate in an open microphone session with some fabulous prizes to be won.
Tickets for the event cost $1000 (balcony); $1500 (auditorium rear); and $2000 (auditorium front). They are available at the National Cultural Centre; Giftland OfficeMax; Elegance Jewellery and Pawn Shop; Upscale Restaurant and Bar and Gizmos and Gadgets.
As usual, patrons are advised not to be late.
