Ash Education maul President’s College; Ann’s Grove outlasts Bladen Hall Multi
One day before Ash Education faced off with President’s College (PC) in the Chico/Kashif & Shanghai Secondary Schools Football Tournament at the Number 5 Village, West Berbice, Community Centre Ground, Wednesday evening last, coach of the former team, Abu Huriarah, had predicted that his boys would have easily breezed past their opponents and go on to play Annandale Secondary School one day later.
Indeed, Huriarah’s words were prophetic and his boys literally mauled their opponents 12-0 and up to press time yesterday afternoon, were engaged in a battle for honours with Annandale Secondary School at the Buxton Community Centre Ground. Ann’s Grove and Bladen Hall Multilateral School also faced off on Wednesday and the former team prevailed 3-0 on penalty kicks after regulation time yielded 1 goal apiece for both teams. Those scorers were Daniel Pellew, in the 8th minute for Ann’s Grove and Kevron Durant in the 20th for Bladen Hall Multilateral.
Atlin Brown was on fire and breached PC berth in the 23, 45+1, 66, 73 and 88 minutes. He was ably supported by Lester Cummings (12, 39, 45 55), Neil Munroe (2, 12, 16) and Akimo Watts (61). The results of the Ash Education/Annandale Secondary and the Ann’s Grove/ Bladen Hall’s game will be published in tomorrow’s issue.
