The Pepsi Dream Prize promotion which commenced on August 16 and concluded on September 26, last gave one Pepsi consumer and a guest the opportunity to see Beyonce‘ perform live at the final show of the Mrs. Carter World Tour that was held in New York on December 19, 2013.
Last year December, Pepsi announced a wide ranging global collaboration with Beyonce‘. Pepsi in a release at that time explained that the collaboration would include the development of new content and innovative ways to engage fans, consumers and retailers to benefit both the Pepsi brand and Beyoncé.
As a brand ambassador, Beyoncé has appeared in print and out-of-home advertisements for Pepsi. She has also been visible in-store and on-premise through materials such as shelf promotions, in-store displays and in-store advertising. Pepsi has had a relationship with Beyoncé for more than a decade — she first served as a Pepsi spokesperson in 2002.
According to DDL Brands Executive Larry Wills, the Beyoncé partnership is the lead example of how Pepsi is pioneering a new way for brands to engage with musical artists, moving from sponsor to partner. This creates a creative and commercial collaboration that serves both artist and brand.
