The Medicine Chest Pharmacy made a monetary donation to the International Women’s Aid to Mahaica Hospital yesterday as part of corporate commitment to helping charitable organisations during the Christmas Season.
Proprietor of the Medicine Chest, which is located on Middle Street, Jackie Fraser, told Kaieteur News that the pharmacy collects contributions from customers over the year and whatever is the sum at the end of the year, the Pharmacy matches the amount to make the donations.
“This year we have chosen the International Women’s Aid to Mahaica Hospital to spread the Christmas cheer and to brighten up their Christmas. The children are very special to us,” Fraser told this newspaper after the presentation.
Treasurer of the International Women’s Aid to Mahaica Hospital, Beverly Fergus-Ferrell, on behalf of the President and members of the organisation, thanked the Medicine Chest for their contribution.
“We would like to express my gratitude to Mrs Fraser and the Medicine Chest family for their contributions to our project for 2014. We appreciate their support and service. We want them to know that we are very grateful,” Fergus-Ferrell said.
The Medicine Chest had also donated to the organisation two years ago and had chose Christ Church last year as part of its charitable initiative.
