Woodpecker Products annual Christmas Badminton Singles Tourney…
The Woodpecker Products Annual Christmas Singles Tournament continued yesterday afternoon at the Queens College Badminton Courts after serving off one day earlier.
This is the final tournament for the year and features all the top players in the land who are all eager to get on court as they try to win their respective age groups and open events.
Fifteen-year-old Narayan Ramdhani dominated the Boys Under-19 Final with a convincing 21-11, 21-12 victory over Noel Shewjattan in strength sets to clinch the title.
In the Boys Under-15 Final 14-year-old Jonathan Mangra defeated Hemraj Beharry 21-7, 21-9 to cop the U-15 Boys title.
The second U-15 Boys semi-final was played yesterday and Mangra beat Ransell Ramsaroop 21-3, 21-4, to advance to the final. In other matches, Mangra took on Sachin Ramdhan in the first round of the Open Men’s Singles competition with Mangra emerging victorious 21-4, 21-7.
In the Quarter Finals Narayan Ramdhani got the better of Armand Ramdhani 2-7, 21-13.

Under-15 Boys Singles Semi Finals:
Hemraj Beharry defeated Armand Ramdhani: 21-11, 21-10
Under-15 Girls Singles Semi Finals:
Ambika Ramraj defeated Abosaide Cadogan: 21-15, 21-9
Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Siya Persaud: 21-2, 21-3
Under-15 Girls Singles Finals:
Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Ambika Ramraj: 21-9, 21-6

Under-19 Boys Singles Quarter Finals:
Narayan Ramdhani defeated Hemraj Beharry: 21-2, 21-5

Sachin Ramdhani defeated Amil Alli: 21-18, 17-21, 7-21
Under-19 Boys Singles Semi Finals:
Narayan Ramdhani defeated Sachin Ramdhani: 21-7, 21-5
Noel Shewjattan defeated Jonathan Mangra: 21-12, 21-13
Open Mens Singles First Round:
Christopher Persaud defeated Hemraj Beharry: 21-8, 21-8
Action will conclude tonight when the presentation would also be held.
